Gwen Freeman on Sabbatical?

Clearly Gwen Freeman has been off the air for over a week now over at the Morning Show on KFAQ. However, if you go to the KFAQ website, and click on the link to Elvis Polo, suddenly there is a link to Gwen Freeman. However, the link to Gwen Freeman has been removed from the home page. Interesting?

Perhaps Gwen is just taking some time off after all? This is maddening to Morning Show listeners, considering the future of the show. With Chris, the show has taken an even sharper turn toward politics, something we all get a belly full of anyway. Chris will need to move toward a broader range of information and entertainment if he is to make a go of it.

I think you just found a page that hadn't been updated yet. It was announced on the air on Wed., Feb. 20, by program director Brian Gann that Gwen had resigned. Brian also said that they were in the process of a nationwide search to hire a replacement for Gwen to be the host of the morning show.

The KFAQ webmaster tends to miss a lot of stuff. From time to time I have seen different menus on the left. The menu to the left probably should be a separate page that is copied into all the web pages using ##INCLUDE and shtml pages. Makes changing a menu a lot easier, especially when you have pages for staff that can change. There are a lot of pages on that site as you can imagine.

I wonder how comfortable Chris feels carrying the program since he has not done a lot of radio. I guess Michael Bates can answer that one. It's one thing to be on a program on a weekly basis. It is another thing to carry a program for 3 1/2 hours every day where you are not used to be on the radio.

When he left Tulsa he said he was trying to get her to come host with him in Nashville. Looks like he succeeded. I think her daughter is grown so she is free to roam. I'm sure she will do well.

I am glad that they are both gone. I wish that Mr. Bates would be on more frequently as he is a wealth of knowledge regarding the community.

While I am certain that Gwen was a nice person, she was annoying. You can tell she was/is a heavy smoker, just like DelEgo. She sounded at times like she was gonna cough up a lung. I know that she used to party pretty hard at McNellie's and at the Brook. She also stumbled over her words many, many times and didn't seem to up on local events--just read from the paper or internet.

He is such a hypocritcal, lying, cheating, ego-maniac. He had to leave because no one in Tulsa would hire him because his life was full of lies and hypocrisy. Gambling, smoking, not paying his bills, lawsuits, adultery and just pain old being a loud mouth jerk can only go so far. Good riddance!

Well, Pat Campbell, the guy who has been on the last two days, lost his show in Florida so he is apparently available. He would be welcome help for Chris Medlock, IMO. Chris is knowledgeable but not very talented. He gets into this "sing-song" voice thing especially during weather updates that is really annoying. It really does take some training/skill to be good on the radio, and Chris proves that every day he is on.....

If Gwen really has joined Michael in Tennessee, I would welcome Mr. Campbell. Please.
